USA, Oklahoma | Jehovah's Witness church elder Ronald Lawrence arrested over sex abuse claims dating back to 1980s
by jwleaks inusa, oklahoma | jehovah's witness church elder ronald lawrence arrested over sex abuse claims dating back to the 1980's.
a 76-year-old mcalester man was arrested tuesday on 19 counts of sexual abuse after police received claims he molested several children while in a position of authority more than 30 years ago.. mcalester police detectives were alerted to the alleged sexual crimes conducted by ronald lawrence back in august when his first accuser reported abuse at the hands of a jehovah's witness church leader.. a woman now in her 40s told detectives lawrence, an elder at mcalester's kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses, abused her when she was just eight years old, inviting her to his home, where he fondled her and raped her in his bathtub, according to her testimony found in lawrence's arrest warrant, which was issued tuesday.. two other accusers, also in their 40s, then came forward with similar stories of abuse.
both said they were very young, with one telling investigators the molestation took place from the time she was 10 until she was 13 years old.

They have cut it. According to scholars the passage about "casting the first stone" is not part of the original text. I don't know if that's the WT's reasoning. If it is, I only hope that they heed more the scholarly research and realized that the Bible with its countless mistakes and contradiction, multiple forgeries and revisions can only be a man made book.

Letter I wrote to the person the caused me to be disfellowshipped
by jwfacts ina thread on another forum reminded me of a letter i wrote to the person that went to the elders and started the proceedings to have me disfellowshipped.
i stopped believing in the religion when i was 25 but continued going for about ten years.
i finally started to fade at 35, but about 6 months after i had stopped going to meetings, a person wrote a letter to the elders about my website, which at the time was anonymous.

Thank you Paul for your efforts and success in freeing so many. I only wish a similar site were available in Spanish.

Born Again Christians and JWs should look at the bigger picture and stop fighting with each other.
by booker-t init just amazes me how born again christians and jws are fighting and mudslinging at each other all the while not looking at the real problem in front of them the bible.
the bible has been used for thousands of years to committ all sorts of horrible crimes against others.
i am so sick and tired of reading about jws did this and that and christians did this and that when both groups will refuse to explain all of the contradictions and outright discrepencies in the bible.

Unstopable
Cult, planet. It's all semantics. However, planet or the redefined alternative remains a fact. It's an object orbiting the sun.
The word cult refers to a religion. However, the more modern usage of the word carries a negative connotation. From your own beliefs (Hell, Adam and Eve, etc) I'd say that you belong to a dogmatic religion that demands adherence to concepts that either have been proven false or can not be proven. Therefore,, since you are in denial of reality, you belong to a cult.

Welcome Oh Gawd. My story is quite similar, except that you may make more money and my in laws rely on a meager social security payment.
I like your wife. I wish my wife and daughter were as alert as your wife. I guess is up to me to make them see the light. Tough road ahead.
I agree with a previous poster, the money is the key factor that determines their double life, not the religion.

How Do You Generally View People and Yourself?
by minimus ini tend to look at people and situations with a little bit of humor.
i tend to feel that many view themselves as being better than they really are.
people's perceptions are often skewered.

Cofty,
Lol
The angel could have spared the multiple myeloma too, but no, he (or she) put my mom through 4 years of chimotherapy.
By the way, when I suggested to my mom that the difference between her unusual recovery was due to some good genes, a strong will to live, state of the art medicine, great doctors and timely diagnosis, she concedes but always goes back to God made the difference. I guess God cared more about my mom than he did aboutnthe other devout religious people who didn't survive the multiple myeloma.
I always wonder why the more devout Middle Ages people had such a low life expectancy if they were so much more religious than people today

More WT Propaganda: 10 Year Old Children Should Get Baptized!
by Oubliette ini just caught this in an upcoming study article which will be "studied" in the congregations the week of 11/18-24/13:.
he and his wife were elated when their eldest daughter, age ten, told them that she loved her parents, loved the brothers and sisters, and loved jehovah very much.
she said that she wanted to dedicate her life to jehovah and get baptized.

Baptized at 10. Very highly likelyhood to be out before 20.
When a person converts from other religion to JW and his family rejects him/her, The Watchtower calls this situation persecution. But if a young JW baptizes as a child, sees the light later and moves out, the expected rejection by other JW's is called a loving arrangement. Rejection after moving in is persecution and rejection after moving out is a loving arrangement. Nice!

Welcome! You are my type of guys. You like research and have an interest in History.
I learned the truth about the truth about a year and a half ago. My area of expertise is in the area of Astronomy and VAT4956 as it relates to Newbabylonian chronology. Send me a PM if you are interested in the subject. Fascinating stuff. People can make up dates and events, but nobody can control the orbits of the planets, the Moon and the Sun. They support beyond any doubt the accepted year for the destruction of Jerusalem in 587/586 BCE.
